Mission
To facilitate support for tribal people and tribal governments by promoting safe and quality living environments, strong communities, self sufficient and individual rights, while enhancing protection of the lives, prosperity and well being of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
The Office of Indian Services programs and activities support the Department’s Strategic Goal to Advance Quality Communities for Tribes and Alaska while adhering to Public Law 93-638, the Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act. The Office of Indian Services is committed to fostering strong and stable tribal governments capable of administering quality programs to their members. Within Indian Services there are four divisions they are: Division of Human Services, Division of Tribal Government Services, Division of Self-Determination, and Division of Transportation
